Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has confirmed that his team will be without three top players when they tackle Watford in Wednesday’s Premier League tie at Vicarage Road due to injury.
The three Chelsea players that will miss the Watford clash are Ben Chilwell, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.
Tuchel confirmed this on Tuesday during his pre-match press conference.
Tuchel’s men head to the game following a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in their last game.
The Blues are currently on top of the Premier League table with a point ahead of Manchester City and two points ahead of third-place Liverpool.
“Romelu is pretty easy,” Tuchel said. “He came on in the last match and he has continued to train with the group.
“He is ready to progress in minutes and this is where he is at right now.
“For the game tomorrow at Watford, for sure we will be without Chilly, Kova and N’Golo who are all out and then we have some doubts over some other players that we need a bit more time on, to do some examinations on before deciding whether they can be involved.”
Tuchel added, “Reece James, Jorginho and Timo Werner, we will have to wait and then decide on. They all finished training with us today, but there will be some last-minute decisions on those players for sure.”
The kick-off time for Watford vs Chelea is 8.30 pm.
