EPL: ‘Angry’ Klopp chastises Liverpool stars after 4-0 win over Southampton

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has chastised his players for giving away too many chances in their game against Southampton on Saturday.

Diogo Jota scored a brace to give Liverpool the lead inside 32 minutes and Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk scored one each to hand the hosts a comfortable 4-0 win at Anfield.

With the result, Liverpool are now second in the league table, leapfrogging Manchester City.

Klopp said at his post-match press conference, “Talking about stability, I was not happy with the chances we conceded today, to be honest.

“I have no problem with Ali making saves in a football game, but these saves were too spectacular so we have to really work on that.

“We have to be as stable, serious, ruthless defensively as possible.

“That then gives us the platform to play football and then we can create and score. It will not be forever like this that we score two goals per game, but it happened so far and so that’s good.

“But if we win a game 1-0 then I’m happy as well.”
