EPL: Tuchel speaks highly of Rangnick ahead of new coach’s unveiling

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has spoken on the Ralf Rangnick speculated move to Manchester United.

Manchester United, according to multiple reports in England are all but set to unveil Rangnick as their interim manager.

The appointment of an interim boss became imperative following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last Sunday.

Tuchel opened up on the ‘huge influence’ Rangnick has had on his career both as a player and coach.

Rangnick will become United’s interim boss in the next 48 hours, as he awaits the Home Office allocating him a work permit.

“He helped me a lot because he was my coach and then he was one of the main figures to convince me to try coaching so he had a huge influence on all of us at this time,” the Chelsea manager told reporters on Friday.

“He showed us it’s not necessary to follow people to the toilet in football games because that was the belief these days, that the defenders follow the strikers wherever they go. He showed us it’s possible to defend everybody in a zone.

“But listen, before I get carried away and talk too much, he is not appointed yet and let’s respect everybody.

“Let’s respect Ralf and the club’s decision and when things are done then you can maybe talk about it.”
