UCL: Michael Owen predicts Chelsea vs Juventus, Villarreal vs Manchester United games

Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen, has predicted today’s UEFA Champions League, UCL, tie between Chelsea and Juventus at Stamford Bridge.

Owen also predicted Manchester United’s Champions League tie against Villarreal in Spain.

Chelsea head to the game following a 3-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League in their last game, while Man United lost 4-1 to Watford.

Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “Chelsea have a machine look about them this season. Thomas Tuchel has his side playing brilliantly, with Saturday’s 3-0 win at Leicester a perfect example of what he has instilled there.

“Going up against Juventus is never easy, however patchy they have been this season. I don’t see the visitors going for the jugular here, and I reckon they’d be happy taking a point back to Turin.

“That mentality, however, can be dangerous. I think it will be tight, but fancy the Blues to take the points. Chelsea 1, Juventus 0.”

Commenting on the Villarreal vs Man United game, Owen said, “Manchester United turned to Michael Carrick to lead them out in their first match since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal.

“With such dismal form domestically, a win here could be the shot in the arm needed for United. However, despite the visitors picking up seven points from their last nine on European duty, they haven’t looked at all convincing. Who knows where they’d be without the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Even the great man must be feeling it just now, and up against an energetic Villarreal side, I think United may fall short again. It’s 2-1 to the Spaniards for me.”

The kick-off time for Chelsea vs Juventus is 9 pm, while that of Villarreal vs Man United is 6:45 pm.
