Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has given his verdict on Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, amid link to the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag was recently linked with a move to Man United.
The 51-year-old was among four managers tipped to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Man United.
Speaking on the development, Ferdinand insisted that Ten Hag is doing a ‘fantastic job’ at Ajax as the Dutchman continues to be linked with a move to Man United.
“Now, I don’t know Ten Hag personally, but he’s doing a fantastic job at Ajax. Let’s remember that Ajax is not a small club,” Ferdinand told the FIVE YouTube channel.
“They are a massive club, the biggest club in Holland. Yes, it’s different and the landscape is different, but it’s still a huge club that he’s got to work with and the expectation levels there every day are to win.
“That is something that will be there every day and would be there if he was to come to Manchester United.
“Anyone who comes in, they have got to be able to deal with people. That’s the art of a fantastic manager.
“You have obviously got to get it right tactically, but motivating people on a daily basis to produce the goods is a huge part of it.”
Meanwhile, Man United are reluctant to sack Solskjaer, who replaced Jose Mourinho in 2018, despite the club’s poor run of form so far this season.
Man United have lost four of their last six games to slip to the sixth position in the Premier League table.
