EPL: You’re killing players at Man United – O’Hara blasts Solskjaer

Former Tottenham midfielder, Jamie O’Hara has accused Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of ‘killing’ players’ careers at Manchester United.

The Red Devils were defeated 2-0 by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Saturday two weeks after they were thrashed by Liverpool.

After spending big in the summer to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, many expected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United to reach the levels of City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, a shocking 5-0 defeat to Liverpool and another 2-0 defeat to City both at Old Trafford showed the Red Devils still have a long way to go.

O’Hara believes some players are going backward under Solskjaer.

Sancho was a goal machine at Borussia Dortmund while Van de Beek was considered Dutch football’s next big thing at Ajax after being nominated for the Ballon d’Or award once.

“We’ve talked about this season and not having any excuses,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.

“Even Solskjaer came out and said, ‘No more excuses, we’ve got the team, we’ve got Ronaldo, we’re there’.

“They’ve spent £70m on Sancho and the minute he plays for Solskjaer, he gets binned out the England squad!

“The guy is killing players. Van de Beek was a Ballon d’Or nominee and now he can’t even get a game!

“That just goes under the radar. If that was Jose Mourinho, people would be knocking on his door saying, ‘What are you doing to this player?!’

“Sancho is out of the England squad because of Solskjaer and it’s not good enough.”
