Champions League: De Jong names ‘man of the match’ after Man Utd’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta

Former Manchester City midfielder, Nigel de Jong has named Eric Bailly as his man of the match following Manchester United’s Champions League 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Tuesday night.

De Jong said Bailly was solid as a rock during Man United’s clash with Atalanta in Italy.

Man United drew against Atalanta, following two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and a strike each from Josip Ilicic and Duvan Zapata.

Reacting after the game, De Jong, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, said, “Gotta mention Bailly being solid as a rock today.

“Not many times a poor performance by the man next to you is overshadowing your own. MOM for me. #ATAMUN.”

Bailly will now hope to continue his impressive display for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side when they host Premier League rivals Manchester City this weekend at Old Trafford.

The Ivory Coast international is among those in Man United’s squad who have struggled for regular playing time this season under Solskjaer.
