Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has listed some of the players from the previous squads that made Cristiano Ronaldo play better in the team.
They include Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher and Owen Hargreaves.
According to Neville, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to get players who are prepared to work hard around Ronaldo.
“The other thing I would say is Cristiano Ronaldo needs players around him who are going to work really hard defensively.
“That was the same in 2008 by the way. In 2008, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher and Owen Hargreaves, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez, they all worked like trojans to make up for Cristiano in terms of what he was doing.
“We went to Barcelona away in the 2008 [Champions League] semi-final, stick Cristiano up top, put Wayne Rooney on the wing with Ji-Sung Park, and get them to double up and work really hard in a 4-4-2 with Carlos Tevez just dropping in on [Sergio] Busquets,” he said on The Gary Neville Podcast.
