8 GOOD REASONS WOMEN SHOULD ENJOY BEING SINGLE

There’s no reason to be hating on committed relationships or marriage, but none of us are born with a wedding band on our finger, and we should make the most of the time we have when we aren’t seriously committed to anyone but ourselves. Being single means there are lots of things you can do without having to worry whether your significant other would enjoy them, too. Here are some of the most obvious reasons staying single for a while is a good thing.

#1 BEING SPONTANEOUS

Wanna go to the beach? Want to go see a chick flick? When you’re in a relationship there are often differences between what one person likes to do and what the other person likes to do. At time is can be challenging to reach a compromise when it comes to activities, but when you are single, you only have to worry about what you want to do.

#2 TRAVEL

Sure, there’s no rule that says a couple cannot travel together and see different places, but there should be time for that later in life. When you’re single, it’s a great time to just take off on a spur-of-the-moment trip with your friends, or even take on something larger, like seeing the sights in another country.

#3 FAMILY TIME

There will be trade-offs to deal with later in life when it comes time to spending time with family. Thanksgiving with your family and Christmas with his? Perhaps the other way around. Compromise rears its head again when you have to split your time between his family and yours during holidays and other special occasions.

#4 DATING

Dedicating yourself to a serious relationship too soon may leave you with many lost opportunities. Cutting yourself out of the dating scene too early means you’ll have less experience getting to know different people, making it easier to decide which one you really want to settle down with.

#5 MOVE!

Tired of the same old sights? Maybe you want to move to a new place. Whether it’s across town or across the world, you’ll probably never be more flexible when it comes to trying out new new things and places than when you are single.

Settling down in a committed relationship usually means that you’ll end up living with that person. While you’re single – and especially if you still live at home with your parents – it’s a great time to spoil yourself once in a while. Treat yourself to those expensive shoes you have been eying or take a vacation to an exotic locale. It may be a while before you can afford those luxuries again.

#8 SPREAD OUT!

Sure, there are lots of benefits to snuggling up with your man every night, but sometimes you just want spread out and take as much of the bed as you want – without having the blankets stolen.
